Wildlife is a God-given gift to this world. In order to maintain a proper ecological balance on our planet, all living beings, including animals and plants, should be given equal importance. Each living organism on this planet has a unique role in the food chain. But, the sad reality is that many birds and animals are on the verge of extinction. The homes of animals and birds are being invaded by man for land development as well as farming. Practices like hunting and poaching of wild animals for meat, fur, and leather are on the rise and are leading to the extinction of many species. If we do not take earnest steps to save our wildlife, soon we would have a planet with no wildlife. This would also impact us, humans, in a negative way. Hence, we should all come together to save our wildlife, our Earth, and also ourselves.

Animals are also abused across India and the whole world, be it in farms, pet shops, or laboratories, and the cruelty is justified for human good. Illegal trade of wild animals in the country (India) generates revenues and gains between USD 7 to 23 billion per year. It is the fourth most committed crime in the world after humans, arms, and drugs. 

From time to time, Hope and Beyond have been organizing educational drives in schools and colleges, whereby students are educated to sensitize them towards the environment. They are taken to places like Nahargarh Biological Park, Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Sariska National Park, and Jhalana Leopard Reserve on a regular basis to make them understand how the animals interact with their physical environment. During the time of Sankrant, students are taken to local parks to collect ‘Manjha’ that can cause injuries to birds. This helps us generate a feeling of empathy towards animals in the students.

Students are made aware of the techniques of wildlife conservation and the positive impact it has on the ecosystem at large.
