Bird Treatment Camp
The Wild Bird Conservation During Kite Flying Festival – Jaipur initiative was implemented to mitigate the recurring surge of avian injuries associated with Makar Sankranti kite-flying activities in Jaipur. The widespread use of hazardous glass-coated kite string (manjha) poses severe risks to resident and migratory bird species, particularly during the winter season when urban biodiversity is at its peak.

The project adopted an integrated, veterinary-led and data-driven approach combining rapid rescue response, centralized clinical treatment at Bird House, Nindar, structured rehabilitation protocols, systematic data management, and community awareness initiatives. Mobile rescue teams ensured citywide coverage, enabling timely stabilization and referral of injured birds.
To implement targeted awareness and education initiatives aimed at promoting wildlife-safe kite-flying practices and responsible festive behavior among citizens. This objective includes engagement with schools, colleges, community groups, and public representatives to enhanceunderstanding of the ecological impacts of glass-coated manjha, encourage early reporting of injured birds, and foster community participation in urban wildlife conservation.
