Introduction

Jaipur, one of India’s fastest-growing urban centers, is witnessing a steady rise in the population of stray and community dogs. With rapid urbanization, increased traffic, and limited structured animal welfare infrastructure, these animals are highly vulnerable to injuries, infections, and diseases. Access to timely veterinary care remains a major challenge, often resulting in untreated wounds, prolonged suffering, and increased mortality among street dogs.

In response to this critical issue, Hope and Beyond, a Jaipur-based animal welfare organization, has launched a focused initiative to provide onsite medical treatment for dogs. Instead of relocating animals to clinics—which can cause stress, delay treatment, and limit reach—the organization delivers immediate care at the location itself.

This approach ensures:-

Rapid emergency response

Reduced stress and trauma for animals

Wider coverage across urban areas

Improved recovery outcomes

By bringing veterinary care directly to the streets, the initiative addresses a crucial gap in urban animal welfare and promotes a more humane and efficient treatment model.

Team of Veterinary Assistant and a Rescuer leave for the treatment on bike ambulance to beat the heavy traffic of Jaipur city.

Treatment in consultation with our senior veterinary doctor and if necessary call ambulance for rescue.

Aftermath of the treatment, we always take a review and check the dog after few days to see if the treatment worked properly.

Onsite Treatments (1,500+ dogs in 12 months)

·         Direct Animal Welfare :- Provided life-saving medical help for injured, sick, and malnourished dogs that otherwise had little or no access to veterinary care.

·         Reduced Spread of Disease :- Treating wounds, infections, and skin diseases helped contain contagious conditions among street dogs.

·         Efficient Resource Use :- Onsite care prevented unnecessary kennel occupancy. Dogs that could recover in their own environment were treated immediately, freeing limited shelter space for emergency and critical cases.

·         Community Trust & Engagement :- Rapid onsite responses (bike ambulance, helpline) built trust with residents, proving that humane, field-based solutions are both effective and compassionate.
